Terrific Tots™
Preschool Program: The Elite Preschool for Children
of Discerning Parents
A comprehensive, play-based curriculum integrating basic concepts such as Arts & Crafts, Reading Readiness, Writing Readiness, Number Readiness, and Science, the Terrific Tots Preschool Program is led by a hardworking, highly skilled, and very experienced pool of teachers who nurture young children and help them attain their fullest potential.
Having graduated from the top schools in the country, three having earned their Masters degrees from Columbia University, De La Salle University, and the University of Asia and the Pacific, and the other one on her way to getting her graduate degree, the Terrific Tots teachers comprise the team of creative and constructive talents who develop the curricula. The Learning Centers are products of thorough research and meticulous testing to guarantee that each session meets specific thematic and developmental objectives within every minute of every class. Activities in the lesson plans are prepared ahead of time and are crafted to encourage independence and decision-making, and instill in children a basic knowledge and appreciation for solving problems, using logic, communicating through forms and symbols, developing a strong foundation in listening and comprehension, and learning organizational skills even at an early age.
Learning takes place even as the children are in active play: another unique feature of the Terrific Tots program is the inclusion of The Little Gym’s non-competitive motor development program. This distinct opportunity allows children to expend their energies through instructor-led, planned activities in the gym, which teach the children how to listen better, how to take turns, how to take risks, and how to play within a group. Through its own proprietary music and age-appropriate lesson plans, The Little Gym programs additionally teach them rhythm, balance, and coordination through basic gymnastics skills – the foundation of all physical education programs. In a 200-sqm area where children can play safely and learn, rain or shine, The Little Gym aims to take full advantage of the windows in early child development for enhancing gross and fine motor skills, which allow high-skilled performance in later life.
The Terrific Tots Program’s student-teacher ratio is strictly a very low 1:4 for two-year-olds, and 1:5 for three-year-olds, with class sizes kept to a minimum (8 to 10 children in each section) to ensure that the children are safe and that the teachers are attuned to each child’s needs, and to encourage student interaction and development. The school makes use of high quality materials that capture the attention of even the most curious wanderer and entice the shy onlooker to explore.
Most importantly, Terrific Tots teachers work hand-in-hand with parents in the total development of children by maintaining regular, ongoing two-way communication. Teachers listen to parents, continuously seeking to understand their goals and preferences for their children while respecting cultural and family differences. This solid partnership works towards building the child’s healthy mind, active body, and high self-esteem – all very important for the young child who would be moving on to ‘big school.’
